Hayssam holds a PhD in building energy conservation from the National Institute of Applied Science, Lyon France and has been working in the field of energy conservation since.
Hayssam moved to Canada in 2006 where he started working with the National Research Council in Ottawa. In 2008, he accepted a job offer in Montreal and moved to work in the private sector.
Since then, he managed several teams of energy analysts and mechanical engineers providing training on the latest advancement in energy assessment tools and standards. Hayssam has performed and reviewed over 150 energy models and executed energy audits for over 90 buildings ranging from ASHRAE level I to level III or investment grade audits.
He is a recognized expert in the field of Energy Modeling and became accredited to review energy models under Green Globes and LEED Canada submissions in 2012.
By assessing such factors as building envelope, site conditions, lighting layout, and HVAC design, Hayssam identifies energy management opportunities and evaluates proposed savings. Hayssam is proficient with a wide variety of energy codes and industry standard software tools for energy modeling such as IES-VE, Trace 700, eQuest, Can-Quest, EnergyPro, Sefaira, and Simergy.
